NSCAVE TRAVELS
NSCAVE, travels south during winter, and was based in Panama City Beach, Florida, for 5 years.
Then in the fall of 2014 we moved further south to Davenport, Florida, near Orlando, staying at a place called La Cassa Del Sol, a unique village that is often called "Paradise" by those who have stayed there. We spent four years here.
This is a collection of information, slide shows, video and other related information gathered from our travels from Nova Scotia to Florida and other parts of the United States. (2014)
Where Is Nova Scotia?

Panama City Beach Winter - Frequently I receive questions asking what its like in Panama City Beach in winter. Can you go swimming in the gulf, etc. This video shows it is not quite as active as it is in the hot summer months, but it is a nice place to be if you come from areas where it snows. Each winter season is different. It is very central for getting to other parts of Florida, and other parts of the Gulf coast in the New Orleans - Texas direction. There's always lots to do any time of the year, and it is my snowbird destination of choice.
San Antonio Texas, Riverwalk - 2012 A fascinating city with a river that winds through the middle of it. Nothing like a river cruise to see all the activity that is taking place along both sides. This is a busy and fascinating place. Highly recommended if you get the chance to visit Texas.
Panama City Beach Restoration -Dec.2011 - the tail end of Panama City Beach restoration that takes place every few years.
Panama City Beach Christmas Light Show - A first time Panama City Beach Christmas display was kind of unique. Its a combined light show/display consisting of several blocks of lights and animation. Everything from projected video on a multi-story building to underwater projections and sound on the white sand.
We thought it was a nice display, something different from the usual Christmas displays. Every single person working for this display was so friendly and really into making the experience an enjoyable one for everybody.
2010 - 2011 Items
Flying History - You don't often see this these "eras" together. A Mustang, F-4 Phantom and an F-22 Raptor flying in formation. From the Tyndall, Florida air show 2011.
F-22 Raptor - From the Tyndall Air Show, Florida 2011. From one member of the crowd: "This is what freedom is all about."
Pier Park Pier, Panama City Beach - Across Front Beach Road from Pier Park is the Pier Park Pier. Prepare for a half mile walk over the ocean with a different view of the Panama City Beach skyline. You will find folks fishing, strolling and generally enjoying themselves, while tour helicopters, banner towing planes and jets from nearby Tyndall air force base fly overhead.
Relaxation at its finest. This is the Pier Park Pier. (Feb. 2011)
Search For Gators - Florida is supposed to have lots of alligators. During past visits I didn't see any except for one lone gator near the Kennedy Space Center. So this year we made a specific point to find some. And we did, in a place in the Florida Everglades called Oasis Ranger Station. Gators in their natural environment. (Feb. 2011)
DeFuniak Springs Christmas Lights Revisited 2010 - A display of over 5 million Christmas lights around a lake that draws hundreds of viewers. The traffic is bumper to bumper and continuous ...

Panama City Beach Helicopter Tour (West) - A tour from Pier Park in a westerly direction along Panama City Beach on board Panhandle Helicopter. A mixture of video and still pictures in the opposite direction of most other videos of this area. It's a great flight, click on the banner on the left for more information on their website. (2010)
Pensacola Naval Air Museum - The home of the famous Blue Angels. The Aviation Museum holds an enormous amount of history. Some airplanes have been seen in the movies, some almost unknown, while others have lived these times from way back until now. A fascinating place with airplanes on the walls, the floor and overhead. (2010)
Madeira Beach - Madeira Beach, Florida is a long stretch of land in the Gulf of Mexico containing mostly residential and tourist attractions. John's Pass is one such area that shows what a boardwalk should be, boats, dolphins, pelicans, people and a street full of some unique shops. (2010)
Kennedy Space Center - is huge, massive and large in all aspects. The value of a space program can be realized after visiting here. One of the important aspects not often mentioned is that the large territory is also a wild life preserve. (2010)
Disney Magic - If you are in the Orlando area you have to go to at least one of the Disney attractions. Disney is for kids young and old, and you can't help but enjoy the characters, rides and scenery. (2010)

Merry Christmas From Panama City Beach, Florida- For the first time a decision was made to be a snowbird and leave all the winter cold behind for a few months. It may be cold there, it may be warm here, but as always the heart remains at home. "Thinking of You At Christmas!" (24 Dec.2009)
Daytona Visit 2009 - A visit to Daytona in 2009. The Daytona Experience is like no other. Daytona is large, exciting and very elite. Eight cars on the track was exciting. Can't wait to see 30 or 40 when I attend some races in 2010.
