The family decision was to have Rose cremated. In fact Rose and I talked about what kind of service we would have at our end some years ago. We decided cremation was for us, and she even joked about being "Genie in the jug" and would be here every day if she was the one to go first.
So this is her shrine located in the corner of our living room on a floating shelf. The water effect for the picture is supplied by Paint.net a photoshop like program for the web. The urn with the angel on front is very fitting for Rose because throughout her life she was an angel to all of us in all respects all the time. The angel is lighted 24 hours a day by blue LED lights.
Rose's are scattered around and the one in the glass case is a music box that plays "The Rose". The five candles represent our family, the red one being her, the tall one me, and the three others our sons.
The electronic picture frame in the background also runs 24 hours a day and displays pictures of Rose from a time before I met her up until June 2007 showing many of her different looks throughout the years.
I say this is her temporary resting place because she will be here with me until the time arrives for me to join her once again. At that time I will be cremated also and our sons can decide the final resting place for both of us, keeping us together forever.
The Broken Chain
We little know that morning that God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly. In death we do the same.
Its broken our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone, for part of us went with you, the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories, your love is still in our guide and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, but God calls us one by one, the Chain will link again.
